Post s’more blogs are always a delight.

Another holiday today.  We had last Wednesday off, school Thursday, Friday and Saturday off for the weekend, school Sunday, and today off.  I may have said this before, but it makes a lot of sense to me why they have year-round school here.  Not to mention that the weather isn’t exactly enjoyable in the summer here.  There are long breaks for some of the bigger religious holidays, though.

This week has been pretty smooth.  Tuesday, I began teaching the girls at the center about the Solar System, and tomorrow we will make the planets out of paper.  It should be fun.  I know I had fun learning the names in another language!

Wednesday, because of the holiday, I didn’t teach at the Free School, but I did spend some time that day figuring out a rough plan of what I’ll teach each week this semester so I can cover the books completely without running out of material.  I’m excited about going back.

Thursday was pretty uneventful, except for the evening.  We got to take our supervisor’s four children out (three boys 6 and under and a baby girl) to give them an evening of quiet, and it was quite the adventure.  Boys will be boys, and babies will be babies.  We had a lot of fun, though.  A lot of the “western” restaurants here have play areas for kids, and the one we chose had a rather large area that they played in for quite some time.

This weekend, we finally got to go shopping for cloth for new outfits, so I now have four suits at the tailor being made for me to get next week!

This week should be pretty simple, too.  It’s nice, after the wedding whirlwind.  Having the bride on her vacation these two weeks is adding some stress at the Center, but we’re tackling it well enough.

Keep yarping.  Some new opportunities are rising up for us that are very exciting, and I’ll have more on them soon!

  1. We need to arrange a time to talk to each other on Skype. I'm so glad to hear that you're having such a great time. I keep praying for you, especially with all of the stuff that's going down on the other side of the globe.

    BTW. My Office quote today:
Michael: Everybody, David Wallace and I have talked and we have decided to promote Jim to the position of co-manager.
    Stanley: Co-manager of what?
    Michael: Of your butt.
