Shopping in South Asia

It’s a very different shopping experience here.

After our 3am arrival and unpacking, we tried to sleep a few hours and then woke for 9:30 orientation.  After an overload of information on security, logistics, and how to do what we’re here to do, we went out to an authentic local restaurant, which was fabulous.  Learning to eat with our hand was even more exciting.  We had more information shared, and then the girls got to go shopping for local clothing, which was quite the experience.

We feel like we’re drinking from a fire hydrant here, but there’s so much information that has to be learned to adapt to South Asian culture. The people here are beautiful – especially the children.  Our team is blending together in an awesome way.  I’m so excited about the things we’ll each go off and do and reconnecting at the end to hear each other’s stories.

This is definitely a week of growth, stretching, breaking, and rebuilding.  Remember us and yarp, yarp, yarp!
